About Debbie

Debbie’s interest in design dates back to her college years when as an Urban Studies major she studied how people’s surrounding spaces impacted their lives. As her work experience evolved from nonprofit housing to starting and operating a successful children’s clothing business, she kept her interest in design alive by remodeling her own homes. Finally in 2005, at the urging of friends and family, she made a full-time commitment to further pursue her interest in design professionally.

Since then she has worked at two design and remodeling companies and she received her AKBD certification from the National Kitchen and Bath Association. In 2007 she founded Celadon Design and works as an independent kitchen and bath designer specializing in older homes.

Debbie is passionate about space planning. She delights in helping clients enjoy their homes more by creating functional and inviting spaces that complement the style of their home. In addition, Debbie has long believed in being “green”. She loves the challenge of integrating re-use and recycling into a project as well as using “healthy” materials.

Design isn’t just Debbie’s profession; it plays a role in her personal life as well. A native of the Southwest Minneapolis area, she has renovated four previous residences, saying she “always buys the homes that need the most work.” She loves to cook with her husband, daughter and son (a professional chef), garden, golf and spend time at the family’s log cabin in Wisconsin.
